About the 2026 Comprehensive Plan

How Central City is charting its next chapter — what the plan covers, how it was made, and who's behind it.

City of Centralis updating its comprehensive plan to set a clear, shared direction for the years ahead. A comprehensive plan is a community’s long-range policy framework — the document that guides how a place grows, invests in its services, protects what makes it distinctive, and weighs the choices that shape daily life. The 2026 Comprehensive Planupdates that framework for today’s conditions and the community’s priorities for the future.

A bold but grounded vision for the future of Central City — centered on livability and quality of life for all who call the community home.

What the plan covers

The plan is organized into focused chapters, each setting a vision and the goals and strategies to reach it. Together they span the major areas a comprehensive plan must address:

Alongside these chapters, the plan includes a Future Land Use Plan that looks at growth across Central City’s villages— distinct places, each with its own character — and an implementation matrix that turns the plan’s goals into concrete actions, phased over time. You can explore the full plan, villages, and implementation progress throughout this site.

The process and draft status

The 2026 Comprehensive Plan is being prepared by the Central City Planning Commission through a public planning process. This site reflects the R1 Draft (April 2026) of the plan. As the plan advances, draft content is reviewed, refined, and ultimately adopted by the Central City Planning Commission, with opportunities for community input along the way.

The team behind it

The plan is developed with a multidisciplinary planning team: Obermeier Sheykhet Architecture · Plummer · Strata · LSC · BDITS. BDITS serves as the digital and engagement partner, building the tools — this site and the Companion App — that make the plan accessible and help the community take part.

This is draft content under review. The R1 Draft (April 2026) is a working version of the plan — copy on this page will be finalized as the plan advances toward adoption by the Central City Planning Commission.
